Carl Yao is a technology entrepreneur who is passionate about using technology to enable better global communications. He is currently the Executive Vice President at CSOFT International, a global communications company that provides language translation and technology solutions to international businesses. Prior to CSOFT, Carl was the principal architect at YAOS Technologies, a company he founded, for the development of the world’s first multilingual speech engine that used natural human voice to synthesize speech. He also created TermWiki, a social knowledge network and the world’s largest terminology cloud with nomenclature in 1,700 industry fields and over 100 languages. Carl is now working on Stepes, the world's first human-powered mobile translation app that brings translation to the world’s large bilingual or multilingual population.
